Re: Anyone replaced their plug caps?
I have a theory that the main 'upgrade' when fitting stick coils is in fact that you've ditched the old HT leads and caps, not that the coils themselves were tired (though obviously sometimes they might be!), if the coils are still testing within spec. I replaced the HT leads and caps on mine and ke...

Re: Fuel light
Might be a stupid question but you do have it connected at the connection under the fuel tank don't you?

Re: Bump start
When I've had to bump start it I've used 2nd gear, down a slight hill, sitting on bike, let clutch out fast once speed's built up then immediately pull clutch back in when engine starts to fire.

Re: Riding help...leaning
By far the most important and powerful piece of advice for cornering is to always look where you want to go, round the bend. It's much easier said than done and more so (and also more necessary) on a bike than in a car. Learning to do this made the biggest difference of all the tips and advice I rea...

Re: Clutch Biting Point
The clutch operation isn't even part of the MOT, only the condition of the lever itself is, so I think you need to go back and query this.

Chris, this is absolutely great. Your description of the improvement matches mine exactly. Thanks for reporting back – I hope this might inspire others to do this very cheap improvement!

Not entirely sure that's going to fit down the spark plug tunnels but let us know.

Re: Occasional full-throttle hesitation
Ha good point and I should do. Bike is currently off the road as it needed a new reg-rec and stator which I'm only able to do very gradually at the mo (have done the stator, just need to put the LH cover back on properly and swap the reg-rec and wiring)...I will eventually try some Sainsbury's fuel ...

Re: Occasional full-throttle hesitation
It's a pleasure! Yes 1 m should definitely be more than enough. And yes, the attachment on the coil is a threaded spike like on the spark plug caps. Just be very sure as I say to reassemble the seal properly where it enters the coil (and I guess a smear of dielectric grease wouldn't hurt either). I ...

Re: Occasional full-throttle hesitation
Hi Chris, no, it didn't. Annoyingly I wasn't hugely scientific about it and didn't ensure I only changed one variable at a time, so I can't be totally sure what fixed it. I do know for sure that it runs better on non-supermarket fuel – if someone else told me this I'd be sceptical but there's absolu...
