Anyone with an SP1 or SP2 for a Bike mag feature
Hi All, Rupert Paul (The Bike journalist) posted this up on TRC earlier (See below) I suspect he may have more luck on here. its Short notice but someone may get ab intersting morning out :D Any experienced SP-1 or SP-2 owners fancy bringing their bike along to a morning at Bruntingthorpe Proving ...

Re: Firestorm on ebay?
I'd get a few miles in before you think about changing the bars. I got sore wrists at low speeds when I rode mine for the fist couple of times but haven't noticed any discomfort since (20,000 miles including long days touring in France).
Oh, and I'm an old git too
Enjoy.

Re: Gear indicator
I must admit I didn't think it would be really necessary on the Storm, but I was offered a good deal on a 2ndhand one from a mate of mine so gave it a try. I was suprised how much use it has turned out to be :!: And just in case you wondered I'm not as you put it "completely numb and deaf" :crazy ...

Re: Tyre recommendations
I have always had bridgestones on my zx6r r6 and my storm, i had the 014s and they were the best tyre ive ridden on. Did a trackday on storm with the 014s and they gave me loads of confidence. I have a zx9r now and that has diablo corsa's on i like these tyres but not as much as the 014s, so i ...

Re: Gear indicator
I can understand wanting an indicator on an IL4 600 to stop you looking for 7th gear but on a storm there is such a wide usable spread of revs I can't see the point (unless you are completely numb and deaf) Maybe a 'change up' indicator if you don't want to over rev it would be useful, My mate's ...

Re: Tyre recommendations
Has anyone tried the Avon Storms or Pirelli Angel STs? I've got a shagged 016 on the back of mine and a shagged 014 on the front. They were great in the dry but once they had 2k on them were horrible in the wet and also tram-lined. A trackday didn't help! I'd like a decent set of road tyres for over ...

how long will the old girl last?
Hi guys, I'm up to 35k miles on my 98 'storm. it now needs the front and rear supension sorting. I did a trackday on her couple of weeks ago and although I had a real blast, the saggyness really showed through. I'm happy to throw a few quid at it if the rest of the bike can last. She's completely ...

Re: First week with the Storm
When I first got my Storm my wrists ached (particularly my tight wrist). After a short while I don't notice it. I only feel it now for the first mile of two on my right wrist, but can happily do 400 mile days without a problem.

Re: Reccomend me
Thanks Chaps. An Abba stand are deffo an option. I also like the idea of a front paddock stand that holds the bike under the yoke so you can work on the forks. Gilson, thanks for your kind offer :) I'm a little far away so will take the quality route I think. I'm Looking forward to doing the brakes ...

Cheers Stratman.
a mate with an old VFR did an EBC swap on his and was well chuffed, I'll check out prices.
The paddock stand question was more around which ones to avoid

Hi all, not been around for a while but still putting miles on the 'storm still loving it :D I need to do some jobs and would appreciate your expert advice! 1. Double bubble screen - I'm after a decent qaulity clear one that actually works - which is the best out there? 2. Paddock stands - any ...

Re: Can someone explain the clutch lock problem to me?
Just stumbled over this thread. I get exactly the same thing on my Storm. My solution has been not to do fast starts on revs and use torque instead. Now I've read this I'm going to have a look my plunger & clutch basket. thanks!
