Okay that's very interesting, thank you for the information, I'm currently attempting to fit an underslung rear caliper, simply because they look cool.
After that I'm going to fabricate a left hand exit exhaust, I'll try and upload some photos when it's done.

Re: VFR750/Storm crossbreed race bike project.
The problem now is the chain rubbing on the tyre, the chain and sprockets are fairly new so I didn't want to change to a 520 pitch as it's going to be used as a road bike. I can get an RC30 front sprocket in 525 pitch but I don't know if that will work with the 530 chain. Spacing the rear sprocket ...

Re: VFR750/Storm crossbreed race bike project.
That's very tempting but I'm kind of in the middle of mine now, you've reassured me now and I can carry on with the conversion, I really appreciate the help you've given me

Re: VFR750/Storm crossbreed race bike project.
Did you have any problems centralising the rear wheel, I've followed what you did and although the wheel looks central when looked at from behind it doesn't sit equally on either side of the swinging arm, there's a 3mm captive spacer on the left side of the wheel so the wheel can't move any further ...

Re: VFR750/Storm crossbreed race bike project.
Excellent, thank you very much, mine's the earlier VFR with the 16" and 18" wheels so this conversion should be even more dramatic.
Much appreciated.

Re: VFR750/Storm crossbreed race bike project.
At the front end, were the Firestorm forks shorter than the VFR forks and if so did that make any difference.

Re: VFR750/Storm crossbreed race bike project.
I've taken the bearing housing down 8mm, the outer part 10mm and the face that the sprocket bolts to 10mm, does that sound about right? Looking at the photos of the sprocket from the back 10mm looks about right.

Excellent, thanks, and did the sprocket carrier bearing have to be recessed as well

Re: VFR750/Storm crossbreed race bike project.
I know this an old thread but what exactly did you do to the sprocket carrier to make it fit. I'm doing a similar thing but if I cant get it to fit I might have to try a CBR1000FL/M rear wheel.

Re: New VTR rider..project
[quote=popkat post_id=494370 time=1633266969 user_id=11192] The VFR front rim you need is the 750 1994-1997 model, also NC30 will fit. Blade rear wheel will match from 1992-1999. Good luck going FI, not worth it imo as its such a smooth bike with carbs, I can't see much gain for the work involved ...

Re: VTR converted to VFR handle bars-How to
I drilled and tapped an M4 thread into the front of the lockstops and fitted some button headed screws, the lock is slightly reduced but not enough to cause any problems

True.
Just as an aside, I was in Dunelm the other day and noticed they did Rustoleum spray paint and they do one called Gun Metal metallic and It's almost a perfect match in case anyone's interested.

Re: clutch cover paint colour
Thanks for all the advice, I think the carbon cover is the way to go and all for under fifty quid, I don't plan on dropping it but if the unthinkable happened then at least I'm not spilling the contents of the engine all over the road and seeing as the cover has already had a repair I feel it's ...
