Re: Can I use Dynojet needles with standard main jets?
The aim of the post was to look at reason for the poor performance for VTR1000 in their lower rpm's off idle - which mine is suffering from. Sisumi - email made a point that he'd changed the inlet boots to later model restricted version and used 45 pilot jet - which was something which seemed worth ...

Re: Can I use Dynojet needles with standard main jets?
The most interesting part is the inlet boots - I did some digging on different forums and found something interesting on Super Hawk forum about the very subject. -Quote " Superhawks stalling under heavy braking or low idling. The deal is that since the carb throats are pretty big, under certain...

Re: Can I use Dynojet needles with standard main jets?
I'm struggling with exactly the same issue - had a dynojet kit (190 mains /48 pilot) on it and some LexTek pipes which were really loud - stuttered and surged between 3000 and 4000 was a nightmare to ride - so I Fitted Delkovic cans, jetted down from 190's to 178 FR and 180 R plus it had 48 pilots -...

Re: K&N Air filter - Jetting issue - stuttering at constant throttle
Hi
Had a few other avenues to check. - breath carb pipe routing plus an interesting one - it has manual camchain tensioners - if set to tight they cause hot starting problems - busy weekend

Re: K&N Air filter - Jetting issue - stuttering at constant throttle
Hi thanks for getting back to me - beer definitely helped - vacuums in the carbs was ok when I stripped them - TPS set and sync'd. I did fit new plugs but might give that a try. spent the evening reading about the effect the fuel screw has on low range rpm - I'll have another play during the week

Re: K&N Air filter - Jetting issue - stuttering at constant throttle
The saga continues - had the storm out for a run - start first time on the choke - stopped for gas when it was good and hot - wouldn't start - massive backfire poor woman in the petrol station nearly wet herself. Got it started - cut out twice on way home however runs well on the main jets to redlin...

Re: K&N Air filter - Jetting issue - stuttering at constant throttle
Thanks for the advice - I'll check the airbox - looks standard - once I have epoxy the extra hole - will check again on the main jets - I'll keep going down toward stock - the pipe's are loud and very free flowing. I had a thought last night - to go stock on main jets and fit some Delkevic cans (wor...

White Power shock
Hi anybody out there got a WP shock - I appear to have a WP shock with remote reservoir - thought originally it was a wilber but on the RR it has "only to be serviced by authorised WP dealer. KBA No. 90863" - other than that no other marking - searched internet found no info and if anyone ...

Re: K&N Air filter - Jetting issue - stuttering at constant throttle
Hi Folk's - thanks for all the responses - sorry been away working. Update. I have stripped them and found more. - it has a dynojet kit fitted. - extra hole drilled in the slides - I've gone back to std air filter, front main jet 180 rear 182 - air screws front 2 turns , rear 2 1/4 turns - no more p...

Re: Finally got a Firestorm
Thanks for the welcome - checked brakes and it’s also got the 954 master cylinder mod - thought the brakes seemed good- only done 26k but has the surging on steady throttle issue - after extensive reading on the forum going plug change then TPS check - if still an issue it’s off with the carbs and i...

Finally got a Firestorm
Being a recent convert to twins (love my sv650 mini twin) - I fancied a Firestorm for a while and this one fell in my lap - its a 2000 bike but had a lot of mids. - 2022 body work/ clocks/ 19l tank mod - Giles rear sets +. Wilber shock and fork re-valved + MCT's. - looking forward to tinkering furth...
