Re: Brother's old Superchicken
If I keep the cbr forks, I could polish them up nice to balance it... Thr sp1 wheels have a polished lip.. But maybe not.... That's why I am going with the peelable coating for now... Maybe I will want it later.... Wonder if I could anodize it the same color as the forks???

Re: Brother's old Superchicken
I had to hold off on the install. I am waiting for new bearings, and for the shock to actually arive... For install purposes, I will be hiding all that shiny with a few coats of black Plasti-Dip spray. Just something to help avoid too many scratches along the way. Probably end up painting it anyway....

Re: Brother's old Superchicken
There are a few guys over on the Superhawkforum.com that have done it.. Most are full length, and have cut off the shock mount, and welded the superhawk mount on. It is mostly a game of spacers to get it to fit, then you have to come up with a different solution for foot pegs. This one was shortened...

Re: Brother's old Superchicken
It is the exact same body and stroke as what they sold for the VTR. Only difference is spring rate, and lower mount.... Just picked up a junk cbr shock to rob parts from. It has the right bottom eye... cbr 600f2 91 94.jpg I hope between the two, I can get it right.... zx6 bottomm.png cbr bottom.png

Re: Brother's old Superchicken
I am a tinkerer.... I prefer the relics.... I am all about the project, and making it my own. This is actually the second newest bike I have owned.. Had an '04 XB12s.... Awesome bike.... Too expensive to tinker on.... I went through a cb350 phase, but got tired of them, and moved on to cb900f... Jus...

Which brings me to where we are today..... 666.jpg 20200712_160644.jpg 20200712_155012.jpg I got the RC wheels in anticipation of a full RC suspension swap. Only reason I have the 954 front end on, is I wanted the lower triple, and the forks came with them.... :D Now that I actually have the SP1 for...

Re: New Old guy
Welcome, enjoy the madhouse. I do hope your not going to taunt us with pictures of your bike in glorious California sunshine too much. After all this is the UK and we are so not used to the sun 🤣🤣🤣 I'd rather be dazzled by the California sun than Eric's sunshine seat! (No offence Eric - I jus...

Re: 1997 VTR EFI conversion and other tinkering
I am working on my own EFI conversion. I am using stock wiring and computer, and most of the sensors from an rc51, rear head from a Varadero to get the cam sensor location, and a set of Varadero throttle bodies. Going to mix and match the RC throttle bodies and the brackets from the Varadero to make...

Now set to swap the fork tubes fro sp1 units, and doing an sp2 swingarm swap. Hope to bother you guys with endless silly ques...
