Mate of mine rode his GSX-R 1100 with a piece of 4x2" piece of wood, in place of a rear shock-absorber unit. For several weeks. We still tease him about it.

Yes, on the 400 forum I frequent, they claimed the VFR is just two 400 engines stuck together.

Haven't tried Ultra Seal. Am worried the wheel will be out of balance, before you have been riding a bit? (I'm probably wrong) I do however carry a hole-plugging kit, with a couple of CO2 canisters, so I can undertake roadside repairs. It has gotten me, and a couple of my mates, out of a few tight ...

Oh? How different? Shurly just a bit more low-down grunt, and a bit less top-end??? And perhaps a bit more vibey? Have to be honest, the only V-twin I have owned, was the RGV250, and I guess that doesn't really count...

Tank-range doesn't bother me. I get about 100 miles from my current bike (Tuned, streetfighter...ed CBR600) so I'm used to that sort of thing.
