Have you by any chance redone the cam timing? I managed to set the cams 180 degrees out and got something like the same symptoms. The exhaust note was much crisper, though- seemed to "bark" more. If you've changed the CCT's or done something else and the problem started afetr you reassembl...

Oh, yeah- forgot to mention- bloody standard reg/rec went on the way back, 10 miles from home, so I had to get it dragged back on the low-loader.
Fitted the R6 finned reg/rec as per some of the advice posts- easy mod, works fine, thanks boarders.

Air intake trumpets- Long or short?

Hi, all. I mentioned that I was going to the Bulldog Bash to run the old Storm up the drag strip, and this year planned to try two long trumpets one day (and dyno it), then two short trumpets (and dyno it) the following day. Due to weather, I only got four runs all weekend  so less than a minu...

Bulldog Bash, anyone?

I'm off to the Bulldog Bash to do some dragstrip research (see post about Grabby Clutch) and to test intake trumpet lengths.

Is anyone else going?

Yellow Storm with carbon straight-throughs, you won't miss it! 8)

This is an old problem; going all the way back to the Crimean war, where the charge of the Light Brigade was 7/6d per hour.

This equates to almost £3.00 in today's money, plus Gordon's taxes, so just over £27000539577251214644658820644.97

Hope this helps :D

Well, we're about to find out, ladies and gentlemen! Because I've wonderd about this for a while, and tried two long ones, though I could feel more torque but can't be sure SO: I'm off to the Bulldog Bash on Thursday, and will be running the Storm up the drag strip. (It's a yellow one in case anyone...

Just replaced mine yesterday with a 15 tooth front to help acceleration a bit. Like you, I expected a split link, but had to rivet the chain. One thing, if you just remove the L/H footrest and L/H side pipe it pops straight on aready rivetted, so what I did was to rivet it on the workbench, THEN fit...

MMMmmm. Might just be the way i dump the clutch to the bite pint when taking off hard. Seems like the clutch takeas about 1/2 a second to finish feding the lever movement in, so just when I'm balancing the revs by holding the clutch in a bit while opening the twistgrip it locks solid and laaaarge wh...

Ah, yes, distracted myself there. What I meant to say was, shame that the BIKE forum has been taken off.

The Bulldog Bash forum is quite a laugh, but you can't take the piss out of Harleys....

Fuel Costs- a solution

Right, I've had a think about this, and it's about time something was done about the costs of petrol. No, not a protest rideout, that just uses MORE fuel, and anyway, going slowly is not what I bought a bike for. So I've come up with this (bear with me to the end before you scoff, please). All we ne...

[quote="VTRgirlHowever the lads have organised a celebratory ride for me next weekend, so we're going to brave the cold (I can hear you laughing) & risk frostbite together. I haven't got heating (not many do here, although it's becoming more common)[/quote] :) S'ok, most of us in UK haven't...

Terrible news, a sad loss.

I guess we all take a chance sometimes, and get caught out sometimes, but are thankful when we get away with it.

Always sad to hear that someone wasn't lucky this time.

RIP, and thoughts to the family.

SP3 might be nice.... But I've been happy enough with my '97 storm for almost three years now, man and boy (mumble mumble, falls asleep). Where was I? Oh yes, getting more and more of those momnets where I'm just sitting there with the throttle full on waiting for something to happen, like the rev l...

Always fancied a track day, used to marshall at Brands so I know my way around tere, at least. But I use the bike for my day-to-day transport, not just commute but for business as well, so if I stack it I'm stuffed. Advatage with the drag strip is the front end isn't like to tuck on you! Still, thin...
