Chain sprocket wear indicating alignment issues..
Another question.. ! My rear sprocket has significant wear on the inside only outside being OK. Makes me think the chain wasn't quite aligned correctly.. They are junk now as I'm replacing them anyway but I have always checked wheel alignment back to front everytime the rear wheel had been off.. The...

Re: new tyres :)
I've had Michelin and Bridgestone bt21's etc but currently on my second set of Dunlop Sportmax roadsmarts definitely a hard wearing but grippy tyre but I'm going to move to a stickier tyre like the qualifiers. Roadsmarts feel more planted in the wet than the Bridgestones I've had before..

Rear caliper alternatives that aren't sliding calipers..
Hello stormers Just doing the usual spring sort out of the bike putting new sprockets chains etc on and a wee tidy up.. Noticed the pads on the rear caliper worn excessively on the piston side as usual with sliding calipers.. Yes I've done the overhaul kit a while back and I just hate sliding calipe...

Re: vtr1000 dragbike project
No turbo for me may put a 25 bhp wet nitrous on a bit later, and in answer to bsm im running an airbox with no filter, still using a lightly modded snorkle with extra air inlet on top of airbox as the petrol tank is just a dummy shell so i have a lot of space above the airbox. may work may not :rol...

Re: Chain lube
I only use spray on silkolene chain wax i think it is .. after every outing when the chain is warm i just spray it on the exposed part of the chain and it soaks in in front of you and any solvents will have the time to evaporate.. thinking being on average over three or four outings the whole chain ...

Re: new exhaust downpipes .. where to get ?
Just coming back to this to update. I bought a set from sandys. The fit wasnt bad at the cylinders but my link pipes ip to the mig concepts were out in angle and everything would have been badly strained if i could even get them on so i cut the ends off the downpipes at the 'y' split and mocked it a...

Re: Ohlins set up?
reading this with interest. ive got the hydraulic preload adjuster on mine. Can i ask how much movement there should be .. like from fully one way to fully the other way on the preload adjuster .. as far as i can see on mine i get only about six mm of movement at the spring ... seems pityfully small...

Re: shocks that physically fit the storm that could be rebui

Re: shocks that physically fit the storm that could be rebui
The missing info in all this iscreally the linkage ratios of dinor bike as compared to the firestorm .. not sure if ive ever cone across any info relating to that on the net .. for example for a given movement at the rear axle how far does thebottom shock mount move and id imagine as the axle moves ...

Re: shocks that physically fit the storm that could be rebui
No expert but i really cant see why you voukdnt get the internals valved accordingly and a specific spring put on it .. but first put it on and see how it feels just sitting on the bike .. might be close enough for you to feel happy with it and as long as it isnt bottoming out or too far out its a g...

Re: *** IMPORTANT*** Swingarm and linkage bearings servicing
Just stimulating an update here im needing to buy the two needle roller bearings and the internal race or 'collar' spacer tube that are contained within the dogbone part of the linkage where it pivots attached to the swingarm. The bolt through it all is fine just the bearings and the inner race. Its...
