Almost sorted. The linkage joining the three point thingy (I don't know what it's called) to the swing arm was seized solid, so we (my sister's fella and I) had to remove the swingarm entirely so that we could 'work' on it. Taking the opportunity to regrease that too whilst I'm at it 'cos it was bon...

Rear skock repalcement & creaking
My rear suspension is creaking badly. I was once told it might be the linkages. Is that so? Do they need replacing or just taking apart, greasing and reassembling? Also, I have a replacement standard rear shock to fit that's covered less than 2000 miles (mine has covered almost 26000). I've been giv...

Action against diesel spillage - petition
Thanks go to Nigel Hopkins who brought this to our attention on the VTR List.

Sign this guys, a rider died on the Cat & Fiddle road on the weekend. Sadly crashed on a diesel spill and hit an oncoming Mondeo.
Grim days indeed.

Firestorm longevity?
What's the longevity of a Firestorm? Anyone running a high miler? Mine has covered a shade under 23000 miles, needs a new front tyre, a service and the rear suspension has developed a funny creaking noise (probably from all the newly attempted wheelieing). In February it's paid for - I have just £8...

Dynamite, I can echo Weshy's comments, although only by accident (not AN accident though thankfully). I spent virtually all of my 25 mile ride home from the office in second gear the other evening, trying to second gear wheelie using the clutch. After MANY attempts, knowing I wasn't applying enough ...

Oh baldrocks! Dr. Geoff, I need a labotomy! No matter how many times I tried on the into the office this morning, I could not get the front up in second. Revs up to 5k, off then back on quickly. Reaction? Diddly squat. Tried at about 6k but same response. Can't remember what else I was doing (wrong)...

Hey Smokin' Joined the list (at last). Hi everyone! Smokin, we need to get together on this wheelie lark. As you know I have great difficulty 'getting it up' (tho' my wife would disagree - accuses me of ramming a broom handle in her back every morning). Added to my inability to wheelie with ANY sati...
