Has anyone noticed that the exhaust sounds better in the cold? This last week the bike, once nicely warmed up, has sounded awesome! Could just be that cold air better transmits the sound to your ears of course. One thing though: the bike is really hard to start once it gets sub-zero. Even when used ...

Thanks for the replies. I was looking for somewhere local as I'm not sure I'm up to the job of removing them myself. However it does seem that Revolution is the place... The obvious question: How do you support the bike with the forks off? I've got a rear paddock stand but obviously would need to su...

Forks

Just noticed that one of the seal must have gone on the forks. First thought was to take into the shop but maybe now is the time to get an upgrade - maybe it won't even cost much more than getting the seals replaced at a Honda place. Heard plenty about Roger at Revolution but looking for something m...

Tips for removing rounded-off engine bolt

Rounded off one of the engine casing bolts and can't shift it with socket, ring spanner or vice grips. Any suggestions? I seem to remeber that there is some device that you screw in counter-clockwise into a hole. Not sure how easy it would be to drill a hole in a bolt though... I imagine it'll be ve...

Definitely using the correct bolt - double banjo into master cylinder. I think it might have been down to the rather tight fit of the right-hand line fitting applying a bit of shearing force on the banjo bolt. The weird thing is that I was using a torque wrench for the job...

Gixxerwez - top man

Attempted to fit the hoses bought from gixxerwez over the weekend. Overtorqued the double banjo bolt and snapped it. Contacted gixxer to see if he'd sell me another and he just popped one in the post for nowt. So, I just wanted to say that he's a top bloke and deserves more business! Quick qu...

only ever managed on a downhill with a bit of speed, dropping all my weight onto the pillion seat while letting out the clutch.

in 5 years of VTR ownership, I'm now on my 3rd battery! (down to lack of use in winters, etc)

Goodridge Braided hoses

Been looked on the Busters website for Goodridge braided hoses for the front brakes of the 'storm and am well confused. There are so many options that I really have no clue as to what is the correct thing to order. Here's the page I've been looking at: http://www.busters-accessories.co.uk/products.a...

As I understand it, tinted visors are allowed as long as you have a clear one with you (so you can switch if it goes dark). By that rules glasses are fine too as you can just take them off.

Thanks for that. Have just taken out the insurance and added legal cover as you suggested (only another £25).

I still can't believe the quote though... you know the saying "If something is too good to be true then it usually is"? Maybe this is the exception...

Bennett's insurance

Just got my insurance renewal from The Insurance Line, they are asking for £435. Decided to look around and Bennett's are quoting £117. I can't see anything wrong but just can't believe this quote.

Anyone got a good or bad experience with Bennett's?

Brilliant. Before I order one, presumably you've got a broken mirror that you might want to sell, right?

Mirror Bracket

I'm looking for the right hand mirror bracket - the metal bit with the two studs on that bolts through the fairing and to which the mirror arms is bolted to (I hope that describes it well enough). I'll have to see if you can buy this part individually from Honda but I imagine that they'll want to se...
