Thanks for help evry1.Got him to Strip it down and rebuild.was showing 85psi on front cylinder and only 50 on back 1. now its done it feels like its got loads more pull than before but think it might have lost some top end. Cost £330 in the end. :roll: Better than £800 tho :) That price for gasket...

So thats the secret of getting off with points hey D+S, dye the hair grey! :twisted: So far I' been lucky with bizzies, been warned but not booked. fair enough. Just wish those bast*ard cameras in Wilts where as understanding. Any one coming down M4 in the summer be very careful. :!:

I've been told it could be arond £700 +cct's for rebuild worse case senario. Its from a good mate so i'm positive i'm not being ripped. Head gasket is about £160 ive been told.Mine has always been looked after also for the twenty thou i've put on it. Thats why i'm not too sure of s/hand engine.jus...

Cheers for that Johny :lol: ,mechanic recons ive taken a couple of pieces out ot the valves. Just been looking for engine through breakers in Mcn, does £450 +vat sound about right. One of them who breaks engines recons i could away with just cylinder heads 8O . Now being an absolute tw*t with anyth...

I need to ask for a bit of advice guys. CCT's went on me the other week. Was only doing about 5 MPH so was hoping I would get away without serious damage. No such luck. Any body with ideas to which would be best option. My engine has 26 tho on it. Garage is saying it depends on what i would prefer, ...
