Bags

Hi Terrier The sports throwovers are the best option. They expand to 30l+ and careful packing, and choosing, will easily see you through 2 weeks travel. Make sure you take old clothes for the days riding, wear it twice and then bin it. Half way through the trip, you'll have plenty of room for shoppi...

Service intervals

Morning all!
Got a 20k mile service due soon. Does anybody know if this is a major service? Or got a copy of the service schedule?
All responses appreciated, especially the daft ones (bit bored, hungover, needing some non-corporate idiocy :? )

Under pressure

Dave

If you haven't already done it, mine are at 36 front 42 rear.
I've just tinkered with suspension settings and the tyres are still happy so I'd go with that

Italia

ORing I know, thats why I don't want to waste any time getting there! Looks like the cheapest way is going to be to fly and hire a bike from Rome (574 Euro for 10 days on a transalp). All the others work out at 800 euros+. The train from Dusseldorf to Verona is £340 with bike but that still leaves ...

European motorail

Has anyone tried shipping their bike across Europe? Trying to plan a 2 week tour around Italy for next year and don't want to do the traditional 4 days of hard blasting just to get to Italy & back (cost of fuel, peage, hotels etc). Considering flying over and hiring a bike but would prefer to us...

Work

Hi Mark Glad you're feeling better (not sure if you're up to jokes about the butt tears yet?). If your contract has, or was expected to last for 12 months or more, you are entitled to claim unfair dismissal. If it was due to run out in december (eg) and you were signed off sick for a month, they eit...

Dearie

Hmmm, quite like the Loch side idea! :P Everyone's probably seen the MCN response to the new bike research paper (paranoid about sports bikes or what!) but does anyone know if it addressed the whole 'driver training' issue? As you say, this summer's been incredible for sphincter-tightening episodes ...

Hunting season

Is it hunting season for motorcyclists? First me, then MDJ then Mercury. Not a good couple of weeks. Is it about time the DfT produced an ad that actually warns car drivers not to be complete twats (without putting the responsibility on us first)? Think I'd rather be a dear. There's less people with...

Get well soon!

Get better soon Mark! I hope your recovery goes smoothly and that the court case goes your way. Try using the other Mark (Knopfler) defence and get the driver deported! Having had my own 'incident' recently I know how it mucks with your brain so take it easy when you get back on your wheels. Best o'...

East London

Just in case anyone has the pleasure of using the Mile End Road... :? There is a gap between traffic lights near the courthouse where it is, just, possible to go faster than 30mph (for about 200 feet. The ONLY stretch of above 1st gear road in that part of town). There is now frequently a 'Safety Ca...
