I concur, my mate's got an '03 R6 and me a '98 Storm, we swap occasionally and I find it takes about 10mins to get used to it. Then when I swap back it takes me a while to settle back to my bike. The brakes are awesome I nearly went over the bars the first stop I did. I've ridden a few inline fours ...

I've got Diablo's, they were on it when I bought it so can't compare to others but can't complain. I've replaced the rear but that was shagged when I got it.

I test rode an SV1000 before buying my VTR, I liked it a lot, just couldn't afford it. Around twice the price of what I got my VTR for, at the same price I would go an SV1000. I think the VTR looks better, albeit older, but the SV is much more modern technology. Both good bikes, better than an ...

[quote="nhr22259"]"not the best at anything"[quote] According to an American sports bike comparison of all sports bikes the VTR comes out number one in one item, fuel consumption. Uses more than the Harleys even! :? Who cares all you have to do is stop put in some more go juice and another 160kms of ...

Back in action

After parking my bike wrong 2 months back (see: http://www.abercon.co.uk/vtr1000/phpBB2 ... rked+wrong) I've got it back from the repairer, just in time for a long weekend and the weather looks ok. Very happy :)

The repairer is waiting for parts so they haven't even started on it  I'm getting so frustrated now I'm thinking of buying another bike, I looked at a Triumph Sprint RS  Maybe I'll just trade my old Storm for a new one at the ...

I know the feeling, did very similar just 2 weeks ago, downhill, right-hander, although slower ~30MPH. So personally I faired better at the slower speed with only bruised ribs and pulled muscles, but the bike faired much worse. I don't know if frame sliders would've worked in my case because the ...

I've got the quote on repairs... bear in mind the bike doesn't look too bad (to the casual observer it doesn't even look crashed) and it was rideable.

$4673 in parts

$1180 repairs

$572 labour

$642 GST (VAT)

total AUD $7068 :o

I wanted Rossi to win, the ultimate "grudge" match, Biagi used to use the excuse that the Yamaha wasn't good enough, and then Rossi got the better components etc so with roles reversed and he still won shows who's best. But credit should go to Max also, he was the only one who stayed with Rossi, and ...

I was on the Reefton spur road, a well known road to crash on... but I don't attribute the crash to anything but lack of concentration.

Bike is now at shop for a quote on repairs.

I parked it wrong...

Went out for a ride with some mates and was absolutely flying showing the other's what a V2 can do (they all had I4's). Content with blowing them all away, decided to cruise for a bit, just coasting through the corners, day dreamed a bit, didn't look at the corner touched the grass on the outside of ...

I've got the small tank (early) model and my fuel light comes on at 130km city - 160km country, then it takes about 12 litres to fill up.

So I guess that's about 31-38mpg

Later models with bigger tank will get a bit further...
