Re: sp1 de-restriction box of tricks????
A lot of bikes cant actually make full power in the lower gears (some its just 1st, others its 1st to 4th!) That box basically de-restricts it so it can make full power... I wouldnt personally bother with it on a SP :S Just do the PC3... Some dirt bikes come with a similar system (The Suzuki DRZ400S...

Re: Bike won't start after CCT job
Its the small stub on the back of the tap (nearest the seat)...
It points to the left hand side of the bike...
I hope that helps..

Re: BP leak
Whale Oil Beef Hooked....
BP = Bitumen Pilchards....
Mind you, I dont think the spill is the only place you get oily birds....
Look at the beaches around the UK...
The amount of sunscreen the birds use, it creates an oil slick!

Re: Misfire at 5000RPM
I think the honda sportsbikes (CBR's etc) being 4 cylinders use 2 coils each with 2 wires...
perhaps a couple of cheap budget car coils might do the job?
single lead from them to the plug....
Good luck with it though

Re: Running Problems
All very well unless its a problem that can damage the CDI etc...
Then I would have to buy a new box and not for my bike :S
The TPS was fine when I checked it the other day...
My patience with the bike is running thin though :S

Re: Misfire at 5000RPM
Bad luck Gerrit
Mind you, I think I am in the same boat...
I cant get the problem on my VTR fixed, as its nothing mechanical, and the Ignition Control box, CDI, etc are too expensive...
I really dont think I would buy another Honda.
Unless it was new with a warranty as you said.
Igor.

Re: Running Problems
Right, its not the carbs... I have balanced them using the ear/tube technique and no matter how out of balance or balanced they are, the problem isnt solved. And please dont moan at me for using the ear/tube technique... I have extremely sensitive hearing and have used it to great success before.. T...

Re: Running Problems
I still need to balance the carbs, I havent got the gauges and no local garages will do it today :( I might see if I can tweak it a little just to see if it makes a difference... I know they wont be perfectly balanced, but at least I could get them to open at the same time properly... if once they a...

Re: Dynojet Kit And Cans?
I dont like cotton gauze filters personally... They dont filter enough for my liking... oil foam, like the pipercross are better... personally, I would like an oil bath filter but I dont think the engine would like that :P And I know I cant get the carbs perfectly balanced without gauges, but I can ...

Re: R/R and thermal compounds
Personally, I would be tempted to fit a small 12v computer fan to the reg/rec. If you have a finned one, a fan cable tied would be enough. if you have the flat, non finned type then a cheap old cpu cooler and fan would be a good idea... use some CPU thermal paste and cable tie it around the reg/reg....

Re: Dynojet Kit And Cans?
Just wanted to ask another question. I need to balance my carbs, but I havent got the tool at the moment. The rear carb opens to far, so it starts closing a bit past the fully open point, when the front carb is fully open. which way will I need to turn the balancing adjuster to get the carbs open fu...
