Tony.mon had the same problem, in the end he took it to his mechanic who cut it out of the bike.

I think you will find that the SP2 is a little thirsty, due to them having bigger throttle bodies than the SP1 and where the SP1 has 4 injectors per body, the SP2 has 12. I was just wondering if anyone has fitting the new storm magnesium clutch, crank cover and water pump housing to the older model. The main question is do they fit. I have a `98 storm, and want to keep the gold theme running through my bike, and these covers look nice on the newer storms.

I have just bought this from Halfrauds, but it will not get through the wheel wax that I put on the forks to protect them from dirt and grim.
