Re: Wobble from front end?
I had the same...after the cam chain incident and contemplating re-arranging hondas set up with Tommy Hammer (4lb short shank) I decided to fix the lot changed the head bearings one night.... As per comments on here, hand tightened then ran around the block then 1/4 turn...now no probs and superb. T...

Re: Power loss at 8000rpm - Misfire
Hi, New to this forum. Picked up a 2000 firestorm, last week. 10k on the clock , stored under SORN for a few years and seems to be fairly standard apart from some Remus cans that aren't too noisy. At 8000rpm it loses power and hesitates all the way up to 9500rpm. I changed plugs, air filter, ran so...

Re: Help converting to manual CCT
Couple of options open to folks on here, go to your local decent car spares place and get gasket paper, cut your own gasket 20pence a sheet last you a lifetime....unless your daft like me and wait for the tensioner to snap to save £50 on the manual ones. However, I have been known to build up rally...

Re: Cam chain tensioner week!
Final note tonight chain had come away but I may have got away with it. I've one last query before the hammer comes out - thanks for all of the guidance and support so far! With my mates pressure tester (owns a garage) i've plugged my compressor and chucked 200 psi through the sparky hole with the t...

Re: Cam chain tensioner week!
So it was the front and the chain had slipped, I rotated probably unwisely, the crank nut and gently set it towards the FT mark, the chain slipped back onto the cams, and I'm just about to check where the marks should be in relation to where they are now and attempt to check the clearances. Some pic...

Re: Cam chain tensioner week!
when turning the cct you should be able to retract the plunger with a small flat bladed screwdriver.. if its working you will feel resistance from the spring trying to screw the plunger back against the cam chain. not sure if that makes any sense lol Ha ha now I've got ouch it's fecked................

Re: Cam chain tensioner week!
Tony, Tried your approach first and maybe I'm just thick but neither front nor the back seem to have any movement if I gently try to turn the screw? then they both move freely.......... But what am I to expect, should there be free play ish or ? They both just feel fixed, but a little oil did drop o...

Cam chain tensioner week!
Hi folks...seen the earlier post on cct...........
Looks like I've got the same problem.....
Loud clatter sounds like the front is starved of oil and very metallic rattle....
Whats the deal if my valves are bent what am I looking for?
If I strip...
