Re: Dust Seal advice

I removed the washer/seal when I got the yokes powdercoated. I can't remember the exact process, but I think it was simple enough with limited tools and knowledge.

A bit of heat may have been used.

Re: If ONLY it was that easy!

You are correct about the sprung tabs on the top of the nuts, they do a similar job to nyloc nuts, but are heat resistant. What's wrong with the nuts you have removed? If they're damaged just order new ones. No need to start replacing other nuts/bolts if they're not worn. Did you visually check the ...

Re: Grainstorm VIII...Orff with their heads... May 27th 2023

I just received quite a threatening call from a bloke called Frank or something. He said he was part of the infamous Grain arachnid chapter and if I don't turn up on my Storm, he'll come and dismantle it and sell all the parts on eBay for a quid.

So I guess, I'll see you guys there?!

Re: Streetfighters let's see them

This was my project frankenbike from a long time ago.

I used it for some light green laning, then restored it to factory trim.

Definitely use the o.e.m spec nuts [emoji106]

Glad Macs tip worked [emoji106]

Ideally you want to fully dismantle and degrease the linkages, then inspect the needle bearings and spacers for corrosion/wear. Then regrease and rebuild, you can re use any parts that look like they're in good condition.

Nice work Jamie, when is the big unveiling? Cheers Al, I've still got bloomin loads to do... [emoji24] Finally made some brackets to join the rearsets to the exhaust link pipes this afternoon. They've been flapping about for years! Just gave them a coat of zinc primer tonight. https://uploads.tapat...

Cheers chaps! Chris, That's very kind. But honestly my welding is shocking (no pun intended) I'm just fairly handy with an angle grinder and file [emoji1]

Looks good Tony, nice to get rid of corroding bolts. They have no place on a Tuono!

I made some exhaust hangers today [emoji846]

Re: Anybody have experience of working with titanium....?

I've just been playing around with aluminium sheet hangers and they're springy too. But, if you double them up so the 2 sheets meet at the exhaust mounting point, but have a spacer between the 2 mounting points on the subframe they're solid. I guess you're creating a triangle between the 2 sheets. I...
