Re: Duffy's Streetfighter Project

Hi Duffy. Just read this thread on your VTR fighter. Firstly, sorry to hear about your sister's news and, like others, sincere best wishes to you and your family. The project's looking great and I'm really liking the fact that you're paying attention to the finer details such as engine and frame fin...

Re: Tango'd Storm

Hi Chris. Thanks for the comments. The seat unit is a complete transplant from a 748S and includes the standard Ducati seat pivot. Makes it really easy getting to all the electrics. The rear lights are mounted in the seat unit so I used a contact switch from the Ford Transit side door to make the co...

Thought I'd put some fairly recent pics up as there have been some mods over the last two years... http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j383/martinarcher/P6103547_zpseva8iviy.jpg http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j383/martinarcher/P6103552_zpsu7zxmb92.jpg http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j383/ma...

Re: Tango'd Storm

Yep, off to good ol' eBay today. Crapped myself when I asked the local Honda dealer how much for a new set of oil cooler lines.

Re: Tango'd Storm

Hi Ginja. What Ducati seat unit is it and what year? Is the subframe from the same model Duke? And what condition? Might be interested myself as my best mate wants the same look on his EXUP fighter. Also, if anyone knows where I can get a spare pair of oil feed unions that fit on the Firestorm's cra...

Re: Clutch Cover Window with LED Lighting

Bad news to hear you took a bang. Hopefully you'll get the bike resurrected for this year. A couple of changes beginning of last year... a new front end consisting of Gixer750K5 USD forks and Gixer1000K4 radial calipers. Also got rid of the ugly front sprocket cover and replaced it with a highly mod...

Re: Clutch Cover Window with LED Lighting

Hi Carl. Just to let you know I've been running my windowed clutch cover for, I guess, three years now and it's never given me a moment's trouble. All I did was buy a spare engine cover on eBay and sent it to the guys at Bespoke Bits (up here in Scotland where I now live). It came back about 3 weeks...

Re: Wossiss then? An oil deflecter???

Hi folks Long time away from the forum but thought I'd update this thread I started yonks ago. I went ahead with windowing the clutch cover, despite the whateveritis thing on the inside of the cover itself. Took it out, had the cover windowed and... no difference. No extra vibrations, no extra noise...

Re: Clutch Cover Window with LED Lighting

Yeah, been a bit busy on this and that. Mostly not the bike I might add. Only a couple of minor changes to that since my last visit... powdercoated shock spring to match paint, stick coils and that's about it. Currently looking at Gixer 750 forks to upgrade to radial brakes. So, thickness of the pol...

Re: Clutch Cover Query

Seb I think the bloke you are after is Scubadog. Seb, I've been off the forum for a while so missed this thread about the damper thing on the inside of the clutch casing. Or whatever it is... Anyway, I fightered my VTR - you might see pics of an orange bike elsewhere on the forum - and wanted to pu...

Re: How to fit stick coils

I guess there's a couple of reasons for me to make the change. Firstly, all the mods I've made to my Firestorm fighter have created a pretty busy space between the frame and airbox, so removing the old coils and HT leads will free up some of that space. Doesn't sound like much but when most of the w...

Re: Swing arm and brace

Blimey, the brace was done so long ago I can't remember exactly what caliper mods were required. Pic below will show you though - underslung, torque arm added (stainless, rose jointed), torque arm bracket on swingarm underside. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8022/7709277786_2a9c3fa5c1_b.jpg From memo...
