I've done mine black, with a spatter finish.

Don't use copper grease on the sliders.
That stuff will attack the rubber parts and cause them to swell and go brittle.
Always use red rubber grease on rubber items.

I'm not running a sweatshop, and the pay rates mentioned above are real, however the work is in central London, where the cost of living -rent, food etc- is high as .
