1 radiator?

Anyone who's read my build post might know im trying to fit an fzs fairing to the vtr. I've got to a point now where the rads are a little in the way. Turning them in towards the frame presents a problem that the fan touches the engine. So I'm now wondering if to put a front mounted rad is better. I...

Re: New bike, no doubt a new project!

A very basic bracket for the clocks. Bolted to the existing frame so can be improved later. Next job is wiring loom route and maybe get rid of the ignition barrelImage

Re: New bike, no doubt a new project!

Cheers Chris, I thought this might be of some use to someone who suffered with the riding position like me! I'm convinced this will be better. This is how I've finished up today. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210418/01f4db57c2aebf80a6c37d2860476c35.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210418/...

Re: New bike, no doubt a new project!

It fits! Next jobs will be to either drop the rads by 10mm or 'push' the tops in by 10mm this is due to the cap fowling the fairing just. As I can't weld alu I'd prefer to do the least disruptive method. Meanwhile whist I ponder my next move I've been fitting handlebars and brakes etc. Planning on M...

Re: New bike, no doubt a new project!

Had an evening all to myself this week so obviously spent it sorting the bike. Sorted out the mirror bracket 'ears' then cracked on welding together a bracket to lift the fairing to a suitable position. My next task is to weld a bracket so the original vtr clocks can fit a standard fzs fairing stay....

Re: New bike, no doubt a new project!

I have to admit, I've always liked my bikes black and a bit mean looking but the gold forks with the blue I'm really liking! I didn't get much done with the fairing but I've mocked it up, bit of a modding is needed. Firstly my fairing stay for the fzs600 is bent so im cutting it and rewelding with p...

Re: New bike, no doubt a new project!

Been able to spend some time on the bike this weekend. Abba stand was awesome to get the bike lifted up. So got the front end all off ready for the R1 usd front end swap and the fzs fairing cowl. So far I've realised I was about 5mm off from my measuring - my custom fzr spindle in r1 bottom yoke is ...

Re: My Quarter-Litre Bikes of old

Love thay cb250rs. Still have mine after about 15 years as a 'long term project' (the missus has almost forgotten I've got it!) Squeezed an ft500 motor in it a few years ago, still waiting to hear it fire up. Wish I had ridden more two strokes I've only be fortunate enough to learn on my little rd12...
