OP Storm Scotland 16th 17th 18th August 2019

Post by AMCQ46 »

OK, can everyone who has expressed an interest confirm that they are OK for the weekend 16th to 18th August? I will then keep updating the first post in the thread.

I have spoken to the bunkhouse people and it is free that weekend and the prices are £19/head/night and I need to pay that at the time of booking. We can get upto 20 people in the bunkhouse and if there are couples, then you might want to use the lochside cabins.

so I will need names and how many days from you all.
then once we have 10 or more names, I will ask for your payment and I will make the booking.

basic will be Friday night and Saturday night - £19 per night + £5 for sheets and towels = £43
if you stay Friday, Saturday and Sunday - £19 per night + £5 for sheets and towels = £62

confirmed = 16 in bunkhouse plus at least 2 locals [Norry & Liz]

AMcQ46 - fri & Sat & Sun - Paid
Bazza - fri & Sat - paid
Tony.mon fri & Sat. - Paid
Kermit + Wellgroomed + Edward. - Paid
PeteL - paid
Grumpyfrog - fri & Sat - Paid
Husky James - Paid
Stevie - Paid
Fabio - Paid
Mags@port - fri & Sat - Paid
Andy [Magnus's mate] - fri & Sat - Paid
Flatline - fri & Sat. - Paid
StormyRob - Fri Sat - Paid
Rollingthunder - one day

Perhaps:

Gabi
Chris & Jas
others from NI?

extra info.
the bunkhouse has 5 rooms of 4 beds, plus 3 toilet / shower rooms and a livingroom, TV & Kitchen area

if you want bedding & towel that will be a single payment of £5, but that can wait till the week before we arrive

There is a café onsite and we will use that for breakfast [which is also extra, but we can pay that on the day] and they also had a burger night which was good last yr.

lochside Chalets are only bedrooms, you have to walk to the campsite toilets [or the woods] if you need a piss in the night.

there is a campsite if you want to do canvas or have a camper van.

Anyone coming up from the south is very welcome to stop over on Thursday & Monday night at my house then you can break the journey and we can ride up together.

plan will be to ride up on Friday with the main fun starting when we get to Settle [Yorkshire], so try and meet there if possible. Then we will ride some fun roads as we work our way up to Dumfries where we will meet up with those coming down from the North and across from the east. From there we will have more fun roads till we get to the campsite, where we will meet up with the Irish visitors, who should have been collected from the Ferry by Norry RC8 (he promises to go slower this year) and will no doubt have a Bonfire started.

then drinks and BBQ

Saturday will be an organised ride, where we plan to lose people as soon as we set off and this yr we want to avoid the trip home in an ambulance :(
more Drink, Bonfire and Burgers will follow.

Sunday, some people will be exhausted already, but the rest of us will go on a 2nd mystery tour dropping the NI team off at the ferry .

those that stayed Sunday night will then head home on Monday broken from the hedonism of the previous nights, and come Tuesday morning you will wake unsure if it was all a dream

Me def and I'll drag some non-VTR reprobates along as well. I'm sure the usual crew will attend. When will you be able to fix the date? I like to get these things in the diary early so SWMBO is aware.

He picked up his S1000R last Thursday. It looks and sounds lovely. A white 2015 model, none of the Euro4 crap, immaculate condition. That evening we had a cold snap and the gritters came out. I'm not sure he's even ridden it yet but I'm seeing him tonight and will suggest a ride on Sunday. Gagging for a ride to compare with the TV4.

He got a very good deal which included a 2 year factory warranty.

Excellent!
Big Bro has just expressed an interest in Devon and Irish Storm so there’s another one that’s been hooked. Just got to get him north of the border now
