What are you reading right now?

Post by Mav617 »

Just finished a couple of books about despatch riding in London, by S. P. Muir "You're Where Now?" and "Back this Way", both excellent. Also working through the Walt Longmire series by Craig Johnson, highly recommended if you like a bit of small town Sherriff crime drama with a bunch of well drawn characters and tight plots.

just finished 'Reading Chekhov' by Janet Malcolm but now started reading the Wickes kitchen assembly manual, which makes any of Chekhov's works a breeze...

Just finished a self published book by a guy called Ian Whitehead called ‘The hard way round’. Basically he found his Grandfathers diary’s after he passed away and pieced them together to tell the story of a round the world trip Ernest (ding dong) Bell took in 1954 two up on a 1952 Norton Dominator. Some of the language has faded from common usage, (other than at football matches!) and obviously some of the interpretation of the diaries is a struggle but interesting nonetheless.

"Fire and Blood" - George RR Martin, the prequel to Game of Thrones. Its pretty good, HBO are making a 10 part series of it, if you liked GoT I'm sure you'd like this.
