CCT

Post by Audiomann »

Hi guys. I just bought a 1997 vtr1000 firestorm, seems to still have original Cct's. The bike has run 72000km, and I'm planning on changing those. Is it enough to change one? Or does both need to be replaced? I found some really cheap ones from a German company called Cafago, are those just as good? I'm riding a lot as I just got my bike which I love, should I park it until I've got the replacement? Will there be any warning noise before they go? Thanks in advance for the help, love this forum.

My view is

Change both, although front is most probably the one to fail, there has been reports of rears as well.

Not heard of that version, but a manual CCT is just a bolt and a plate and a locknut, so it is not a big concern.

I wouldn't stop riding the bike. But I wouldn't delay too long to fix them.

Oh, forgot to answer the last question..... No you won't get a warning.
