Fork protrusion Firestorm

Post by Cptorange »

When we're talking 5 or 10mm forks out of the top yoke, ie dropping the front end of the bike, are we talking total protrusion or to the circlip groove on the fork?

The cirlip groove is 6mm from the top of the fork as std.

Slightly confusing I know! I was reading that some have only dropped the front end 5mm, which would be 1mm higher than std.

Any amount 'dropped' would be from the circlip. I have Rogers upgraded forks and they are dropped a further 5mm from the circlip, so 11mm total above the clipon.

cheers mate, easy way to go wrong i spose. Ive dropped mine 15mm not including the groove, and its great through the back lanes now, especially with the rear nitron.

Good stuff, i have a rear Nitron too, although i had to have it repaired last year as it blew a seal and threw it's oil all over my back tyre, while it was raining :eek2
Had to get recovery out to get home.
