Different Mirrors on Same-Year Models, Clothes/mirror issue

Post by SILVTR »

My mirrors (1998 FW-model) are the same as these - sort of triangular, http://www.abercon.co.uk/~neilr/pix_bit ... ender2.jpg.

The mirrors that Hein Gericke/MPS/M&P etc list for a 1998 FW-model are the same as a 1998 FW-model FireBlade, like these, more oval http://www.thefastone.co.uk/netalogue/u ... 502745.gif (sorry about the small pic).

What gives? Are the triangular ones on particular country's bikes - mine's a UK mph bike. Personally, I like the triangular ones better, and one of the engineers in my job is working on extensions for me as I write.

BTW - I've started to wear my leathers instead of my winter gear (bulky textile jacket), and rearward view is better. Still shite, but better.

Was flicking through an oldish RiDE magazine article on discounted new bikes, which included FireStorm & VTR-SP1. Triangular mirrors on FireStorm, oval on SP-1 - maybe that's what the mail order guys mean when they sell those mirrors for "VTR"s.
