Which forks fit?

Post by evo360 »

Still looking at doing a front end conversion and I still have a few questions. What deems a set of forks suitable for the bike? Is it just down to length and fork circumferance? Or does it go deeper? Can someone give me a bit of a rundown on what is required. Cheers guys

I put 98 blade RRW forks on mine-later U/D blade forks will fit too. RRV forks fit aswell.

I needed new clip ons, new mudguard (CBR900 or Triumph Daytona/Speed trip will fit) new spacers for the axle and new calliper mounts.

I'm sure other forks will fit. The CBR ones are more or less a diect swap though.
SP1's rock!

Will the sp1 forks go on without much fuss? There's a set knocking around

Iirc the SP1 forks are not as good as the USD (up side down) Fireblade forks for swapping, I have a feeling they're are shorter than the standard Firestorm's.

What ever you decide to fit you'll still need to get them upgraded to suit your body weight for best performance.

Upgrading your standard Storm forks will also make a big improvement. Mine were done by Roger Ditchfield at http://www.revolutionuk.co.uk/

My personally opinion is, I would stick with Honda forks. That will make the swap a lot more straight forward. Not to say you couldn't fit these, it just depends how keen you are and how much money you want to spend on the conversion :)

Bet the seller was sick.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
