First time ive saw one.

Post by bikerpiker »

Driving home from work along the A77 i saw what i though was a police car sitting in the layby ,as a got closer i noticed a tripod with a big diameter lens thingy facing the oncoming traffic , im thinking "dirty bastids",as its a huge long straight stretch that bypasses Kilmarnock !

I didnt want to take my eyes off the road too much, but it turned out to be a silver estate with stripes, and on the side it the first two words were "Vehicle Tax ........ ?", obviously trying to catch road tax dodgers !

I knew the traffic police cars were equiped to catch road tax dodgers ,but thats the first ive seen the camera actually set up in the layby 8O

I don't have a problem with catching tax dodgers, I do have a problem with the plod at the bottom of the Cat n Fiddle run (where the 30mph zone starts) who targetted me when I was following a queue of 3/4 cars. He didn't bother with the cars at all, just pointed at me all the time. Discrimination I call it. :mad2

No problem with them at all, other than when you see them you think they are speed cameras :)
My car and bike are always road taxed , and i wasn't speeding , but on seeing them i still though "oh sh1t" :!:

Get them up here with us now and again they sit on a section of road and then when you pass later, the next lay by further along usually has a few dodgers parked up awaiting the dvla Hi-ab to take them away    good enough for the barstewards.
They go round the streets in the housing schemes as well.

Cheers

I've also seen them on the road between M25 J3 and Brands Hatch on racedays.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
