Post by numbnuts »

Hi Yawl,
I got stopped t'other day by a chap that had a storm bout 8 yrs ago,He bought a DJ kitbut never fitted it and its been sitting around since, long story short he gave it to me(the DJ kit that is for any warped minds out there) but it has no instructions. As far as i know it is complete, my dilemma is will it fit a 2005 model and is there anyone that still has instructions that could email them to me.

DJH-1185 = VTR1000 FIRESTORM FV-F3 97-05

You could try e-mailing http://www.dynojet.co.uk and asking them for a copy of the instructions

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Let me know if you want the instructions (PM) can scan them in but thought they were up in a .pdf somewhere on DJ website.

Yup, can e-mail the Factory Pro version, and I've just posted a carb tuning guide as a sticky in the Knowledgebase which came with it.

PM me your e-mail and I'll send it over.

Dyno jet is different from the factory pro.
Basically it says fit the 170, 180 or 190s for full race
drill the slide with the drill provided
fit the circlip on the fourth groove of the needle
and turn the pilot screws out to 2-2.5 turns out from full in.

Factory pro info is much better. If I was doing it by the seat of my pants I'd take the factory pro info and substitute the Dynojet base settings.
Good luck

Careful with using settings from DJ on an FP, or FP settings on a DJ kit-
FP doesn't drill the slide, and includes pilot jets as well, so the other lot's settings may not work too well.

I've found a copy of the DJ instructions, which I'll happily e-mail to anyone interested, same for the FP ones.
Just PM me your e-mail address.

FWIW DJ and Factory Pro do not label their jets the same way so a 180 DJ will NOT flow the same as a 180 FP. That being said, FP and stock Keihin bits are said to be interchangeable (use ratign system).
