Hi all...VTR..al here.Some of you may remember me as i bought a yellow firestorm some ten months ago and two days after getting it,it threw the front tensioner :mad2 :mad2 .

Well since then i have got rid of the storm(7 months ago) and have had an NC30 but this weekend i have sourced a '98 red storm that has thrown the front tensioner!....My experience of doing the yellow one should help here .....the bike has had new tyres,chain and sprockets and the gleaming red bodywork is unmarked....plus a brand new set of carbon can co cans

I am swapping the NC30 and he is giving me enough money for the parts to fix the storm so it should be on the road real soon....picking it up next friday so can't wait to get it home and get the repairs underway.

Cheers All...and thanks for that link Chris,will be having a read to jog my memory.Got to get it all stripped down first and see what the damage is...i was lucky with the yellow one as i had no bent valves,surely can't be that lucky again.

Worst scenario will be knackered valves and piston.....if thats the case i'll just look for another engine!!

Picked the bike up today.....and she is a beauty,hardly a scratch on her,looks like it's been really well looked after.

Stripped it down tonight and as suspected its the front tensioner thats give way!!

I have the rear tensioner off the yellow storm i had that is ok so i will bung that in and stick it back together and start it up and if all is ok i'll order two new tensioners.
