Post by pikeman »

not had a carb bike for ages so simple question.
So cold starting, full choke press button, now how long until it will ride smoothly with no choke ?

Cheers for the help :)

In this weather - it's pretty much immediately

(and with my pipes, I tend to fire her up, then just slip the clutch and roll up the road)

I reckon everyone will have a different answer to this...
I don't use the choke at all in summer, and in winter my VTR starts straight away on half choke, choke off as soon as I pull away.

No, mine's exactly the same.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Likewise, no choke, prefer not to risk flooding, there is a lot of torque to turn over as it is, if it wont tick over when running, then give it a bit of choke then, but in the summer usually none at all :)
