Shoei Raid 2

Post by Beamish »

I have just ordered one of these lids as it fitted me perfectly in the shop. Got it for £180 of fleabay, P+P all in with a free dark visor thrown in. Anyone have one or have owned one in the past? Just after some longevity information. Thanks in advance for any info

yes ive got one and until i got my new shoei qwest it was without a doubt the best lid ive had. ever.
thats out of agv nolan arai and others..
very quiet at speed, very stable, ie no nodding dog syndrome, very good fit.
i do find the bottom vent hard to clean tho when it gets full of dead flies, and the only other drawback is when using a pinlock insert, with the sporty riding position if the storm, i found the top edge of the pinlock screen was right in my line of vision so i dont use one with it now.

i went to buy another raid2 and was told theyre discontinued now, which is probably why you got yours cheap.
the slaes guy showed me the qwest which is very nice indeed, first thing i noticed is the view window & pinlock is Much bigger than the raid2, hardly feels like im wearing it, and the pinlock is no longer in my field of view...
same weight etc but £50 dearer.
when i said i'd leave it, he did me the qwest for same price as the raid2

very good lid you have m8, you wont be disappointed.
if you want new visors for it, the pattern ones from racevisors.co.uk are a very good fit, as good as the oem in fact, and a fraction of the price.

Hello, I have a raid2 since they came out and it's very good. Almost as comfy as my interceptor which was £450 ish (eek). Bonus with the raid is that it's a fair bit lighter. If you need other visors, visorshop.com are pretty good with shoei stuff. I always wanted an arai signet gt but couldn't get my head to fit it! Perhaps phrenology would help.

I've got one and it's jolly good. Nothing to compare it with though
