Re: how do you guys do your wheelies?
One handed, standing on the pegs is how I roll.
Joking aside, i've only done a few accidental power wheelies pulling away from lights. Like when some cager decides they didnt like me filtering to the front and try to race.
Got the front up accelerating over a hump in the road the other day which freaked me out a bit. I think only weighing 60kg helps

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Managed to get both wheels off the ground (unintentionally) over a hump backed bridge on the way to work on the south coast....scared the living daylights out of me! Tried to do it again on the way home...no chance. Nice wheelie but no dice on both wheels! The clutch is too far gone for bringing the front wheel up otherwise!

Watch from 30 seconds. Can't see both wheels but I was definitely airborne

it helps protect the belly pan, front header & most importantly, the oil filter from stonechips.Snoogle wrote:Good vid, how effective is that fender extender?
seen them get pinholed before with debris from the tyre... if that happens when you're out on the road it's game over.
saw one chap (can't remember who lol sorry!) at rhayader earlier this year with a nifty oil filter cover made from a coke can.
just cut the top off and it fits nice over the top

Here you go chaps, nice music too
Don't suppose there will be a lack of lube to the front cct either.

1St gear is too savage IMHO...very easy to flip it, or get smacked in the face by the top yoke.
2nd gear, roll to about 30Mph, wind the throttle on and dip the clutch.
3rd gear needs a big dip and a yank on the bars.
Mind you, I do have 160BHP to play with

If you want to do fast wheelies then starting in 2nd gear is where its at without a doubt. Especially as changing from 2nd to 3rd to 4th without the clutch is easier than 1st to 2nd. If you want to do slow ones, then you have to learn to do them in 1st and tame the raw beast!! lolZakalwe wrote:1St gear is too savage IMHO...very easy to flip it, or get smacked in the face by the top yoke.

-1 on the front and +2 on the rear makes 1st gear a bit savage. If I get it right, its a thing of joy as the front snaps up so quick so I can hold it on the balance point. 2nd is a lot smoother, but you need to wind the power on more.geodude wrote:If you want to do fast wheelies then starting in 2nd gear is where its at without a doubt. Mind you...I am truly shite at pulling wheelies. I always bottle it to early.

Me too. lol I'm just regurgitating the stuff from wheelie school. lolZakalwe wrote:

Most stunters, including Adam below have super huge rear sprockets (I think he said his was 66 (+22)). That makes them pretty savage I would imagine, but apparently once you get used to launching it straight to balance point, it makes it easier. He starts every trick in 1st and his idle is set to 3k.
My challenge next year is to learn to do slow wheelies.
