Internet Service providers.

Post by pariah »

I've posted this in computer section. But thought more people would see it here.

New pc with windows 7, this now means my old usb modem supplied by tiscali is not compatable with windows 7 and there not going to update it either so I have been reading.
I dont expect them to send me a new router out to me free of charge with out upgrading so maybe it's time to change to a new isp. Who's the bet and offers :problem:

I'm with Virgin - (originally NTL) for TV, telebone and broadband ( http://shop.virginmedia.com/broadband.html ) - can't really complain at the broadband speed and overall reliability - Only slows down after about 5GB downloaded in a day, and importantly they do have some scruples in that they don't sell out your details like Sky and BT recently caught with their pants down....
ACS:Law's leak also revealed that the firm deliberately avoided targeting two ISPs, TalkTalk and Virgin Media UK, both of which were apparently too much trouble. No customer details for either were found in the leak.
BT confirms it sent customer info to ACS:Law - unencrypted

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

peasants lol - we use virgin media cable telly, fone & 50meg broadband, sky upstairs in 3 rooms, just kids package movies & sports, and for the road i use tmobile 7.2meg dongleband, but considering downgrading that to virgin's 3.6meg package for a fiver a mth.

can't complain about virgin... started off on ntl 760k and upgraded as the network improved, went to 1meg, then 2, then it jumped to 20, then got a free upgrade to 50 about a year ago :biggrin
not really had any lengthy outages but customer services & support is crap.

according to Sensei Master Taisen Deshimaru, you are a mere sapling.

Animals live true Zen. And because animals are that way, humans must represent a further development from them. Pigeons are extremely simple, very peaceable, not at all complicated. Sometimes you should follow the animals' way of life, but you must also make use of your human fore-brain. Westerners like to be on one side or the other; either they are all for religion or they detest it - always the same old story of oppositions. What we must do is harmonize religion with communism, American assets with the Arab spirit. If you are always in conflict and battle you can never find true peace. So there needs to be a theory in between. Nobody has found it yet. Only Zen can do it. That is the principle of the five propositions of Buddhism: there are thesis, antithesis, and synthesis, but not only them. There are also the harmonization of the whole and the embracing and transcending of all contradictions.

That's Birdism, not Buddhism.
