stick what you want on it m8 theres a million choices, high level, low level, carbon, stainless, ally, whatever you want.
you most probably wont have to rejet unless you fit a k&n as well.

alternative is debaffle the originals..... search 'bafflectomy'

Cheap & easy fix is to remove the baffles from the standard pipes. Search for ''Baffelectomy'' Sounds much better, someone will come along & tell you that theirs passes an MOT with such altered pipes. Lots of others will come along & tell you which brand of pipes they have on, how good they sound ect ect.... With some after-market pipes you will need to re-jet carbs, new air filter & probably Dyno set up to get the best out of them. They will all however be much lighter then the standard pipes.

Mac....Running standards al-a-baffelectomy. Happy but slightly deafer.....pardon?....it's half past three......

Ive just drilled my baffles a bit. But if I was to go the full hog how loud would it be? I very much intend to hit Snetterton a few times this year, and they have a 105dB sound limit, which I dont want to go over.

I have the full back pipe removed from my stock ones, and I think it is less noisy that Microns I had before...................but it is a good V2 noise now.

I dont know teh noise level, but I didnt trigger the Donington noise meter, so you should be OK.

And the bonus is that it all fully stamped up so the MOT guy just passes me every year

If I was to go ahead and take the hammer drill to mine would I:

A: Need to rejet the carbs.

and

B: Buy more standard ones to keep the MOT people happy?
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.

I'm expecting to fail the mot tbh. As for rejetting, I haven't rode long enough to tell if power is down as I only went out to get fuel. But she still power wheelie well.

My MOT is fine with debaffled pipes. they knows something is missing, but he cant work out what I have done!

I have spare standard ones, but havnt botherd for the last 3 yrs, and no bother with 2 seperate testers.

I think you might be OK on stock jetting, but cant say, as I changed to Race cans & K&N Filter so I had a DynoJet kit added...............then I got rid of the Micron Race Cans as they were just too loud, and went back to modified stock cans.

As I understood it the MoT can't fail you on loud ones, just issue an advisory.
But they can fail you if there's leaks or loose bits.

there's no dB meter used on a MOT, so that's all they can do.

What no-one's mentioned is the weight saving?
Standard ones, even with debaffling, are horribly heavy, compared to carbon (Mmmmm, lovely carbon) ones.....
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
