Lost me job

Post by Lawless247 »

Well, after 17 years with the same company. I find out the 22nd of September will be my last day.
So having only just got back on 2 wheels there may be a Suzuki Bandit for sale.
This has never happened to me before so its a bit of a shocker but, as one door closes and all that.
I hate Indian Givers! No..wait I take that back.

bad news Lawless. When it first happened to me bit of a shocker, but after the fourth time kind of got used to it! Have found that sometimes it's a good thing as it spurs you on and opportunities come along if you've got the right mindset. One thing I found that there are lot of useless time-wasters around and if you've been employed for 17 years you're not in that bracket so fingers crossed you'll be looking forward with a smile, a grin and a helmet on soon

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

One little tip, a lot of HR departments these days are scouring t'ineternet to see what they can find on people- you might want to google yourself and see what they'll see, before they get to see it.

Hope you find something soon.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Bad luck, but it’s a sign of the times I suppose--although that's no comfort to you.

17 years must be some sort of record in this day and age… Back in early 2009 I found looking for a job was a fulltime occupation that in the end didn’t bear fruit. However, after pulling my hair out and getting myself in a right state, I finally took the opportunity to ‘diversify’ and it’s the best thing that I have ever done, although financially I’ve never been so poor :(

In my extremely humble (and totally irrelevant) opinion, look upon it as just that, an opportunity… and keep yer chin up!

Leaving a job when it’s not YOUR choice is never a nice thing and I guess after 17yrs your allowed to feel a bit sorry for yourself, but don’t let it get you down for long these things usually work out for the best in the long run, opportunity often comes from adversity.

My advice would be to book a ‘last minute’ holiday take the wife/girlfriend off somewhere nice for some R&R, forget all about work and come back refreshed and ready to find a better job than you had before.
I've now gone all European and bought a KTM Superduke GT and Aprilia RSV1000R :D ,
Storm is now gone  .
