ignition control unit
am i correct in thinking the control unit gives each coil a 12v supply pulse to fire the coil ? as the other wires are a common ground (Green)

Re: ignition control unit
it sends a common pulse to both coils at the same time.
not a separate pulse for each cylinder.
lost spark jobby, like most bikes.
ive got a spare one if yours is fkt.

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
Re: ignition control unit
Hi benny, do you mean common pulse as in negative pulse or common pulse as in joint pulse, the haynes cct diagram shows it as a joint green ground wire to both coils then 2 seporate pulse wires from the converter unit blue/yellow and yellow /blue i think ?.if it was a negative being switched then the other connection on the coil would have a 12v pos present with ignition on which it doesnt, ive not got any probs with mine i was looking at fitting a dyna two step rev limmiter and they have to be connected to the switched signal on the coil which has been a positive on other bikes i have fitted them on. Hope all this makes sence

Re: ignition control unit
You might want to consider fitting stick coils while you're there.
Saves a bit of weight, but TBH I didn't notice any performance benefit.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
