Agreed!

You can undo the two lower rad supports, and the oil cooler bracket bolts and drop the oil cooler down to rest on a rag on the back of the mudguard.

This saves you having to drain the oil or disconnect the oil cooler lower connections.

Take off the exhaust system, and although it's possible to do the whole job with the fairing on, (just about), it's infinitely easier with it off.

Turn the engine to TDC front cylinder with the cam lobes facing in the correct position before you undo the cam cap bolts, and as long as you don't disturb it, the engine will still be in the correct place when you come to put the cams back in and reset the cam timing.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

1) dont turn the engine over till you have reset the timing.

2) take off the cam cover reset the timing and check the valve clearances, if they are in spec [or too small], you could be lucky
