Maiden voyage completed Scotty

Post by T8ull »

Well, as mentioned a couple weeks ago, purchased the storm but decided to get a full inspection, with manual cct's being done as a preventative measure. The guy I used did actually get them from the person that sells them through this forum, so again thanks for the recommendation. Anyway enough of the background. Today I finally picked her up and rode her. To say I am overwhelmed is an understatement. First impressions are that she needs respecting and to listen to her various tunes bellowing out of the Beowulf cans which tell you exactly what she needs, generally kicking the gears down to balance the howling melody. The riding position is spot on, relaxed forearms, The wrists didn't suffer at all. The wind just blasts over you as you are in the correct position without adjusting position. You feel all nicely snug and tucked in almost like the foetal position. So I think I have found the machine for me, even after 7 attempts. Who would ever get near 9000 revs is beyond me, seeming as I was notching 85 at 4000 rpm, I can't see me touching even 6000, unless in 2nd gear of course!. Watching pedestrians look behind them as you approach them from half a mile away is class, even better is the cars pulling over as you filter, because they too hear you coming half a galaxy away. Will upload pics in due course.
Just one thing........hands were frickin freezing!!
.........So far, so good, so what!

Ah, yes, there's a certain....presence on the road riding one of these.

Glad you like it.

By this time next year you'll be bored with the standard power output and asking what tuning mods work best...

Just don'r scrounge a ride on an SP1 or 2, until you're ready to part with the pennies.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Good on you for getting the CCT's sorted, prevention is better than cure.

Nice write-up, I think we can definitely say you are a V twin convert :D
