Rear disc?

Post by hellride »

I'm going for those 6 spoke wheels and I'm confused when it comes to the rear brakes.
I know I can use VTR discs front, but can I use the VTR disc on the cbr900 rear?
I've found a kit with both front and rear discs (wave discs ofcourse) and I dont want to be forced to order a separate disc.
Oh, well!! Could've been worse...

I thought this was a good price if it's OEM parts, and it lists the other bikes it's compatible for, Hope this helps

I was going to get round to posting when I had photos, but I bought a cheap Chinese wavy read disc a year or so back, and it worked pretty well.
Fitted with G Kyoto pads it actually was capable of locking the rear if I felt so inclined.

But taking it off the other day to fit it to another wheel I saw that it had tiny cracks running from the outside extremity of the slots to the edge of the disc in three or four places, and so it's now scrap.

Shame, as BSM was going to buy it. (Don't tell him, he'll never notice)

The cracks are difficult to photo, but I'll get my daughter to do it with her good camera, and post it up.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

But a marked improvement on handling, turned in alot sharper due to the weight reduction the titanium bolts helped reduce the gyroscopic effect too
