Evening all,
I am after some welding done to one of my link pipes. They are made of stainless steel. I need the bracket taking off and a split welding up. I also need a deeper channel fabricated in to the link pipe for the chain. I have a larger rear sprocket and it hits it. Standard cans are fine for clearance, but I want my race cans back on.
I am in Maidstone Kent, does anyone know a welder in the area that could do a decent job please.
Cheers
Mike

Re: Welder
Try Maidstone Motoliner, otherwise Bob Farnham in Gasoline Alley just near the Oakdene Cafe, Wrotham.
Alternatively there's a fabricator near Dartford that I could put you on to, but he's not very good about meeting deadlines or keeping promises; I only use him when I don't need to parts for a while, or they're just going to stock.
His name's Tony.

If you need a spare system I have a couple in stock, and some link pipes.
That way you can stay on the road while the work's being done.
But re the larger rear sprocket, why not fit a smaller rear and a smaller front, if you can, no clearance issues that way.
Or just jack the rear up by using a 6mm spacer.
Or use a longer rear downpipe, which will lower the standard system a bit.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
Re: Welder
Isn't it funny you go all blank and cant think of anyone, then someone suggests someone you have actually used before and it all comes flooding back.
Cheers Tony I'll try Motorliner first (have used them for frame and wheel straightening in the past), failing that I'll try Bob and then Dartford.
Thanks again.

Re: Welder
Or HM Racing over in Edenbridge, they'll definitely be able to sort you out.
Say hello to Steve for me.

Re: Welder
I tried Motoliner and they don't weld exhausts. Ray put me onto Godden Engineering

Interesting background!
I'll be popping in to see them tomorrow with said link pipe.

Another one of the old grasstrack/speedway boys... I worked for Hagon building wheels, a fair while back.
And Vic Eastwood is in Swanley, from motocross days.
