Bloody battery charging doing my head in!

Post by Image »

Had bike tested at a bike garage, generator reading fine but rectifier low. Had new rectifier. Battery went flat. Had new battery. Bike lights still dimming when bike revved so called bike shop who said that's because the battery is fully charged (huh???????) Kept a charge longer but went flat this morning after a 20 mile ride to work. What the hell could the matter be?

Dodgy earth?
Main ground lead, also check that the RR contacts aren't burnt, next that the RR is properly mounted on a non-painted part of the frame, if not that then check alternator outputs, if not that then try a new RR.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Very close tony.mon. It was wiring on the selanoid burnt and in contact with metal. Glad that's over!
