Hi Guys,
Looks like the only real option is to scrap my firestorm after only 31k majestic miles lol.
The cheapest option for me is replacement engine but as im no mechanic this will cost way to much to justify. CCTs failed and damaged (Cracked) cylinder head etc
The question is how much is the bike worth as is?
How much could it be worth if I bring it home and break it myself?
What would you do??

depending where you are and the price i may be interested as a whole bike
bikes bought dead or alive crash damged , none runners , abandond projects

I had a similar problem with a GPZ900R. Sold it on ebay for £400 which was less of a loss than it would have been to repair it and sell it as a whole bike!

Yep, about £400, I'm afraid.
You'll get more from scrapping it and selling the parts separately, but there's the extra work...
And E-bay fees.

It's an early one, and although mileage is typical for the year it's got to be immaculate to warrant any more than that, really.
Sorry. mate, but you can pick up a runner for as grand these days.
But anyone who has a spare engine (I do) or the ability to rebuild it ( me again) will be able to get it back to running order without too much trouble or expense, but if you need to pay a tech or dealership it's just not worth it.

Don't give up on it, get your self a cheap engine, get a CCT mod done and your away mate! this engine i picked up for 280 quid is a beauty only took me a weekend to put the bike back together, biggest bitch was getting the engine into the frame its self, plus gives you a chance to proper service the rest of the bike so its like new again

buy an engine, strip bike in to 2 halfs. leave new engine on pallet, build bike back around it

Im in Aberdeen Ill probably end up puting it on ebay and seeing what I can get. Just need the cash to get back on the road.
