Have you got one of these mates.

Post by StormingHonda »

Been reading some of the posts, and it reminded of a fella I used to knock about with about 15 years ago.

All his bikes were really fast, and could beat blades, he was always full of stories of how his ZXR400 or XJ650 took a blade out at the set of light, his brother bought a GSXR600 new, but my mates XJ650 could beat it and he even tried racing him a few times.

I have to say he was a bloody good rider, and taught me a lot, but he did live in a dream land when it came to having the fastest bike.

It was downright comical at times, he raced another one of my mates RGV250 on his ZXR400 and it erupted into an arguement in the pub that nearly ended in a fight over.....who had the fastest bike.

I've known people like this, but don't tend to regard them as ' mates'.

Back in 2007, my mates nephew was convinced his gsxr 600 was faster than my Blade. Needless to say he did eventually eat humble pie.

I've got a mate like that

He's had 356 bikes, had em all turbo charged and used to race the cops for a larf

Ended up zipping across the fields many a time on his busa with me on the back half the time 8O

Then there was the time we did a track day and he broke the lap record......they had to pay him a fortune to keep quiet about it

Even did the TT wearing another (top racer) blokes helmet cos he was so much faster, that was the year the bloke came "first" (wink wink) :silent:

I often went on the back, but kept coming off at the lights cos he would do wheelies standing up using just the one hand, so I stopped

He ended up at one of the major manufacturers doing secret testing for the race teams, I really enjoy visiting him at the track

They kept it secret cos he can ride the bikes faster than the team riders

This is why a certain rider is not happy, cos my mate Jim, cos that's his name, can handle the bike and has broken several lap record times on it, but this other guy isn't doing well but is much more famous so they won't use Jim and he only has one leg you see

I can remember when he stood in for another rider that had a broken collar bone, just used one of those rubber mask things that Arnold Schwarzenegger used in a film, he looked just like the real racer, fooled everyone

He's a nice enough bloke but I could never believe some of the stories he told me though

He tends to exaggerate

There are always these time (when I'm not around to see them) and he would manage to do something "outrageous" and tell me all about it

I mean, some of the things :Banned:

Shame really

This doesnt just have to be about motorcycles, I knew a guy years ago, who rekons he was caught doing a bank job, the copper pointed a gun at his head whilst he was sitting in the getaway car with a sawn off shotgun on his lap, and he used to go on about his gangster mates, of course it was all bullshit, because he worked in the same place as me, who wouldnt have given him a job in a million years if it were true.

I mean everyone know a few wannabe hardmen

Y'all are talking nonesense. Everyone knows an RS125 is the fastest bike in the world, especially if you fit it with a pink powerband. It goes 200 MPH in 5.6 seconds.
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.
