"One could use a piece of timber with the dimensions of 1" by 2" to place under the stand when one is at home. Alternatively, when one is out for a ride look for a convenient raised section of road or kerbing to place the stand upon when parking up for a smoke/brew/piss."

Well sort of a result really I suppose. You don't do well with slow speed/no speed spills do you fella? The storm went down just after you painted it. Got to admit I never check the security of the sidestand bolts.

before i went i serviced the bike, new tyres, brakes, oil filters, chainset, clened and checked everything, except the sidestand lol.

sods law,

fortunately the bolt that came out was under the bike, it mustve been hanging out until i kicked the stand down :]

Hope it wasn't too bad, mine fell down the drive once, what a bloody mess, didn't look like much but bars levers foot pegs and gear lever and indicators add up to more than they look :(
