the only plant that will grow on/in the black fire breathing ,oil burner will be snap dragons ! they'll be no pansy or daisy or BLUE BELLS here :-)Kev L wrote:Looks like a hydration system for a greenhouse under your tank there matey, are you going to start growing petunias under there? I knew there had to be a better use for that old black oil burner of yours!!
Nice cascading lobelia down the sides and maybe some busy lizzies over the seat. Before you know it the old bus will look half decent. But only half!

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Today mr postie had another delivery for me.

Akra Carbon exhaust straps
I thought they would go nice with the hangers.
Been keeping my eye on ebay for a while now and know they are expensive to buy new. £50 per strap
Anyways I spotted a bargain and got them for £20
The finished product on my bike. They could do with some heat proof rubber underneath as they are a couple of mm too loose but hold the cans up nicely. The rubber ones on the old straps is too thick.

I also finally got around to spraying my Fazer frame with some Satin finish Hammerite.

I will be cleaning up and spraying the new engine to go in next.

Good work Carl more carbon :-)
How about some inner tube rubber cut and shaped to size ?
I have just won a carbon hanger on eBay but I fear I may need to get a new link pipe made to use it lol .
When are you hoping to get the fazzer done for ?

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
I thought about inner tube already, but aint got none lying around, but I do have some cloth heat resistant tape designed for wrapping looms with which should do the trick.
I'm hoping to have the fazer up and ready for winter, but it's a slow process. Got all the panels rubbed down and ready to be primed. Just can't afford to splash out on a load of rattle cans at the mo. Saving me funds for next months Op storm run. I got the heat resistant paint for engine, that's next and then I stick the lump in.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Just test road the hrc throttle and I like it .
It gives a much more positive feel to the throttle even when filtering through traffic :-) but you do have to be careful in 1st and 2nd gear unless you like looking up at the sky
.
Is it worth the money YES
Would I recommend it YES
And I also recommend taking some clean under ware for when you fall off the back because you've forgotten you have fitted it (I didn't do that honest )

I will be fitting mine to the VFR bars. I may have to find some longer throttle cables for the conversion with the HRC tube and VFR bars.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Today I mostly ran over my own numberplate; wondered why I had a small slide on a roundabout but carried on anyway, and then (miles later) smelt the burning rubber of parts of tail tidy jammed against the back tyre.

See the shiny stripe where I used to have tread.....
Wife went out in the car looking for the numberplate:
Found it!

Then I spent £20 ordering a new numberplate.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
