Fiddly to work on compared to the storm. The inside where not as grubby as I thought. I never bothered with the diaphragm. But the float chamber is similar except it's an adjustable float and everything is smaller and there more of it.

That carb spray is horrible stuff. I got a bit in the eye earlier and it stang, so had to rinse my eye out with water and then I had an Optrex eye bath.

Got it in your eye ??? That was lucky, it could've splashed on to the tip of your fag & put it out!

Do you need a bigger size eye bath for your third eye ?

I had a fag in my mouth, but it had gone out, so was there for comfort. I tried smoking it afterwards and it tasted horrible. It must have got covered in spray as well.

My third eye is on another dimension so it did not come to harm. :)

Ha ha I did exactly the same! I sprayed it somewhere in the carb and it ricocheted right back in my eye! It couldn't have been a better shot

Thought it was just me that was that daft lol :lol:

After making a complete tit of myself at Beaulieu trying to get the seat back onto the bike which ended up in my riding away from onlookers with the seat incorrectly fitted I done a read up on here to see if anyone else had the same problem. Turned out its a well known problem with a couple of threads and the cure was simple.

I took those upside down L shapped bits off my seat and what do you know, The seat comes on and off with so much ease and it seems to fit better too! Go figure. Now when I turn the key in the seat lock it pops up the seat for me which is bloody handy.
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.

That's something I need to do at some point. I will either have to convert my Abba stand or use a hoist and a couple of ladders. :eek2

there is a post or 2 on here from me about how to make your ABBA stand work on the rear engine mounting bolt.......cost nothing  and then you can remove the swingarm spindle nice and easy.

it just involves using a socket inplace of one of the ABBA fittings and I needed a bit of a Jubilee clip to act as a shim to get a good fit between the socket and the ABBA fitting.
Then you need to place some 4"x2" wood under the ABBA because the engine bolt is higher up...job done

Thanks mate I have seen that. It's something on the list for next year. I will also fit a couple of grease nipples and either paint the swingarm or put a braced blade one on while I'm at it.

Here's the link for others http://vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php ... rm#p173860

Not tried them myself but the WIZ leather sliders are meant to give a pleasing effect and smoke when you land them. Wear down quickly though!

The other option is to buy non sparkies then drill, tap and screw in some Ti bolts. Fireworks night every roundabout! :)
