quick action throttle tube fitment storm ?

Post by motostorm »

anyone any experiance with this ?? is there a throttle tube that suits the storm as a quicker action ?

have some arm trouble trying to get the thing opened and still leave me time to get back on the brakes

rather then mess about with cable ties etc (possibly introducing a "spike" in power just where i dont want it , im wondering has anyone found a throttle tube from another bike ? etc ,, that will do the job ??

thanks for any wisdom in advance

there is an HRC part that comes off the CBR600 / 1000 that works and gives 1/6 turn. I cant emember the part number but search QAT and you should find something.

2 things to watch for.
a) you need to remove one of the adjuster nuts from the return cable to get the extra slack required
b) the loads to hold the throttle open go up in proportion to the reduction in angle, so that might have an effect on your arm as well

This is the version I have put in mine and LeeVTR has recently fitted -

There are others avenues available to you, David Silver sells them cheaper I believe but they can take a while to arrive. I got mine off a private seller on E Bay for £14 delivered in a sealed HRC bag (they bought it but never fitted to a CBR600RR). If you're not in a hurry keep an eye open and they come up cheaper occasionally.
Nice, simple little cheap mod which gives the bike a little more snap.

two great and usefulreplies

appreciated,

in relation to the raising rate / giving me problems with the arm i could see why it would tire my arm out , but id like to try it , because im struggling to et from half open to full , and am having to lift a little early to make sure i can get to the brake (on track) my hand / wrist function is good , but i cant lift my arm because of paralysed shoulder .

i think ill try cbr suggested above ,

thanks again ,,,,,, :biggrin :biggrin :biggrin
