If you could only ride one bike, money no object...

Post by leevtr »

...What would it be ??

I love my Storm, and wouldn't want to part with it. I fully admit I bought mine because it popped up cheap, and I didn't have lots of cash around at the time ( nowts changed there since really ). Plus it's my second one, and I knew when I bought it what they were all about.

But if at the time I bought it I'd have had lots more cash to spend, would I have bought one...not so sure ???

Have to say though, in the real world they are as good as you'll ever need on the road, but if you had to choose something else, what would it be??

Be realistic, something to use on a regular basis, that you'd be confident in starting every day, not a living room showpiece .

VFR 1200 - pretty much ticks every box I have been fortunate enough to have owned almost all the latest bikes over the last twenty odd years and cant think of one that does as much. i am considering another at the moment.

A Moto Guzzi Griso 8V SE Tenni :D

Bought one earlier this year but have kept the Storm which gets a lot more use as a commuter.

I wasn't actually looking for a bike but I saw one and had to have one. IMHO the best looking bike available at the moment.

It wasn't cheap and within reason could have probably bought anything - but that was what I wanted and I haven't been dissapointed. No matter where I go it always gets more attention than any other bike.

Really? If you're serious I can come visit you as you're fairly local and you can have a look, and if you're a very good boy I might let you have a ride

Me and this bike are never going to part company so whenever you're ready

Hope the operation goes ok. Good planning getting it done in cold weather so you're ready for the spring

If money was no object I would have a 1098. I know you said be realistic but if money was no object that's what I'd have in my garage.

Along with a commuting bike...... But when it came to doing the commuting I would walk past the commuting bike and get on the 1098

Bottom line is I would use it every day unless if had broken down :lol:

Slippery Sam, the Trident racer from the '70's.

I'd just want to compare it to my old Trident I had years ago.
Even race prepared it's still going to weigh at least two Storms!

Or maybe the Hossack front ended Elf racer, or the JPS rotary Norton....

Anything modern you can just book a test ride, if you're looking like a serious buyer.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

If money was no object I would have a garage. I'd be happy with an old banger off a bike if I had a garage.
