As you know I've been saving and looking for a bike. I've been offered a 30000 mile 1 owner gpz900r
I've always wanted one! It's up for £1000

A8 or after no anti dive fitted, repair kits for the AD are available, I had one A3 and I loved it, very skinny back tyre though lol.

If you want it just to ride and have some fun on then you'll need a good one, if you want something to tinker with or maybe do light restoration then not a bad choice If the price is right, but go in with your eyes open. They can suffer gearbox troubles aswell and will be expensive to fix. They're not fetching "classic" sort of prices and i don't think they ever will, If you buy it make sure it's a sound one (not a money pit), have your fun and you shouldn't lose money on it, but don't count on making any either.
For £1000 I'd expect a mechanically good bike with an mot and a bit rough round the edges.

if its in good nick it might be worth it, but they will be more suited to a hobby bike than a daily commute at that age.

Top Gun mate, getting old though... not a daily commute as mentioned before. Test ride it first and look for any oil leaks, they have tendency to leak hard from the rubber seals at this age, also gear box was mentioned as well, do have issues, especially with the gear selector and gear forks, if you feel that it's hard to change gears, that is a problem. Just be mindful buyer.

I have made some further enquirers today. It's a Gpz750r fitted with a Gpz1000rx engine and carbs about 20 years ago. It's been owned by the same owner for the last 22 years. Will be sold with a years MOT

do it!!! mine was a daily commute till some b8stard nicked it,. nice low seat and you really feel part of the bike. im looking for another at somepoint, i could keep up with most things on mine but it takes abit of bottle on narrow rubber, also a bit different on the bike nights

If you do.....make sure you budget for the repair to the anti dive, that ones got it....thats why everyone says they handle like a 2 fingered blind slut in a fiddler contest.....
