Thermal paste works best when directly between two bare metal surfaces - layers of paint will impede the heat transfer efficiency you're looking for and will cause electrical resistance potentially causing earthing problems.

Looking good - don't forget etch primer is nasty toxic stuff and scrape some of the finish off from the subframe when remounting the R/R so it can efficiently ground/conduct heat away.

how is the rear flappy rubber thing meant to fit? the one that starts at the tank mount

It starts from the tank mount and then wraps round the fuel tap - presumably to stop any unfortunate fuel leaks landing directly onto a hot engine

As wicky said but I will add it sort off goes in a U shape, so drops down then comes back up. The two slots in the rubber go over the tank mount before sitting the tank back over it.

Those cam covers look fantastic, and that Graphite colour is not too bad.

Not what I did to the bike but the other way round - The side stand fractured my right little toe!

I was giving the baglux tank bag a tug when it was on the paddock stand, which caused the bike to roll off and forward and the side-stand with the weight of the bike landing on my cunningly placed pinky - Happy it stayed upright though immediately afterwards I was hopping & swearing like a one-legged kangaroo....

Bled my brakes, especially the rear as that hadn't been done since fitting my rearsets. The fronts are as good as they are going to get, but I'm not that happy with the feel at the lever. I need to look at upgrading the front set up as some stage. New MC time me thinks

Hope the toe heels well Wicky. I have three toes which have heeled in the bent position which is a nightmare walking on sometimes and wearing boots. Good job you had the sidestand down or the whole bike might have landed on you.

Broke my no2 toe last year when I fell up the stairs . It's not good hobbling everywhere for a few weeks .

So I will be getting a Barnett clutch next month and a service at the same time :-)

I'm disappointed, didn't hear you going doing the road at all ;) Bit brave though, going 250 miles when you last had a major fault after 800 yards

We headed down the fosse to Cirencester then Swindon - Oxford and a longer way back ;-)
